Communities in Schools

CIS is a partner with Missouri's Caring Communities. The mission of CIS is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life. In addition to the valuable role it plays in Missouri, CIS supports projects in schools and communities throughout the country.

HandsNet

HandsNet is a network for people working in many of the areas of systems change connected to Caring Communities. Members have access to in-depth articles and information. Non-member have access to action alerts, information summaries and the HandsNet links page, which includes links to resources on AIDS-HIV Issues; Budget, Tax & Policy; Children, Youth & Families; Communications & Media; Foundations;Health Issues; Housing-CD; Hunger & Nutrition Policy; Legal Services; Other Government Resources; Other Nonprofit Organizations; Rural Development; and Substance Abuse.

Institute for Educational Leadership, Inc.

It is IEL's mission to improve education — and thus the lives of children, youth and their families — through positive and visionary change. IEL also hosts a Policy Exchange with information on Accountability and results; Partnerships across levels of government; Connecting reforms across sectors; and Connecting research to public policies and programs.

America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth

America’s Promise, chairing General Colin Powell, aids in ensuring that our nation’ s young people have access to the five fundamental resources; caring adult, a healthy start, safe and structured places, education for marketable skills, and opportunities to serve. Kansas City is a "City of Promise" and has engaged in a number of events. Other Community Partnership communities are also part of this movement. 

KidsCampaigns

Provides resources for communities, schools and parents on the inter-related issues addressed by Caring Communities.

Cooperative Extension System's Children, Youth and Family

Information Service Provides hundreds of online publications featuring practical, research-based information on children, youth and families focused in six major areas: health; childcare; building organizational collaborations; promoting family strength; science and technology programs; and strengthening community-based programs.
