William Woods Connections Program
"Navigating a Course to Outstanding Schools." The project's main goal is to promote collaboration between educators and human service providers for the well-being of children and their families in at-risk situations.

Communities in Schools 
CIS is a partner with Missouri's Caring Communities. The mission of CIS is to champion the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life. In addition to the valuable role it plays in Missouri, CIS supports projects in schools and communities throughout the country.

Council of Chief State School Officers

A national nonprofit organization serving leaders in state departments responsible for their state's elementary and secondary education. Provides publications, conferences, and other resources related to school reform, the role of schools and the education system in welfare reform, and other topics of interest to those implementing Caring Communities.

Family Education Network

A comprehensive web site linking schools, school districts, parents, students, community members. Includes more than 16,000 web sites --one for every education community in the US. Offers everything from health issues and after school activities to curriculum trends, news and education policy, as well as school lunch menus and minutes from parent-teacher meetings. Sections designed especially to help parents take an active role in the education of their children; another section to encourage and support school district superintendents to take a leadership role in connecting schools with families and other community agencies.

Hand in Hand: Parents, Schools & Communities United for Kids

Promotes parental involvement in education and works closely with community groups to help parents reconnect with the promises and opportunities of their children's education.

 

Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC)

ERIC is a national information system designed to provide users with ready access to an extensive body of education-related literature. Established in 1966, ERIC is supported by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), and is administered by the National Library of Education. ERIC clearinghouses identify and select documents and journal articles, and then prepare entries describing the documents and articles to be incorporated in the ERIC database, the world's most frequently used collection of information on education. Clearinghouses also publish digests, monographs, and other publications; answer questions; disseminate information on the Internet; and represent ERIC at conferences and workshops.

 

ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education
The ERIC Clearinghouse on Elementary and Early Childhood Education (ERIC/EECE) is one of 16 clearinghouses in the ERIC system. ERIC/EECE contributes to the database in the areas of child development, the education and care of children from birth through early adolescence, the teaching of young children, and parenting and family life.

 

ERIC Clearinghouse on Rural Education and Small Schools
Covers economic, cultural, and social conditions related to educational programs and practices for rural residents; American Indians/Alaska Natives, Mexican Americans, and migrants; educational practices and programs in all small schools; and outdoor education.

 

ERIC Clearinghouse on Urban Education
Covers programs and practices in urban area schools; education of African-American and Hispanic youth; theory and practice of educational equity; and urban and minority experiences, social institutions, and services. National Parent Information Network The purpose of NPIN is to provide information to parents and those who work with parents and to foster the exchange of parenting materials.

PTA

The National PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer association in the United States working exclusively on behalf of children and youth. In 1996 we celebrate the rich history of the National PTA, promoting the education, health and safety of children and families for 100 years
